KINDNESS CARDS

We all have kindness in us, but it is like a muscle that needs to be used in order to grow strong. Some people think being kind is the same thing as being nice. It’s not! Kindness requires four key traits: compassion, empathy, courage, and responsibility. Kindness also takes time to blossom—just like a tree that takes time to grow from a small seed. I designed the Kindness Cards for children aged six to twelve to practice being kind to themselves, to their family, to their community, and to the earth, each and every day. The tips and ideas in this deck will help kids feel good about themselves and gain more confidence—even in tricky situations.

GIRL TIME

Being a tween is not easy, and being a tween’s mom can be challenging. I have been working with children and their families for over a decade. Throughout my practice, I have noticed that there are plenty of resources geared toward young children and adolescents, but there are not enough tools that focus on strengthening the relationship between tweens and their moms. I wrote Girl Time: A Mother-Daughter Activity Book for Sharing, Bonding, and Really Talking to fill this gap. My goal is to empower moms with the right set of skills and help them feel confident about initiating and carrying on difficult (but important!) conversations with tweens. I find that it is more comforting for children to know that their parent(s) won't avoid topics that may be uncomfortable or scary for them. It is my hope that this book will create an opportunity for tweens and their moms to connect, have fun, and learn some crucial life skills together. Each chapter will guide the mother-daughter pair to become more mindful, feel happier, be healthier, and have better relationships with each other and with other people.
